Where To Stay

If you’re not going to be living in Mumbai for at least a few weeks, finding housing on your own might be tough—especially if you’re traveling during high season. Hostels are plentiful and you can get a dorm bed for about $10/night in many of them. A one-bedroom apartment is about $45/night, but it will most likely come with all of your utilities included (i.e., water, electricity, etc.) and perhaps even some complimentary food. One of my favorite spots is called The Ritz Pune; it’s right next to Pune Junction train station and has apartments ranging from three-star all the way up to five stars!

3 Days in Mumbai

Mumbai City

If you’re just looking for a quick trip, Mumbai is a great place to go. Plan on three days in order to make sure you have time to explore both coasts of India’s most populous city. A flight from London will get you there in about seven hours and leave plenty of time for activities, but if your schedule is tight, or if you want an excuse to get out of the office, then take a four-hour train ride from Delhi and be in downtown Mumbai by dinnertime. There are also several ferry services that connect South India with Mumbai; they leave every day and cost around 1,000 rupees one way (about 15 U.S. dollars). This can be a good option if you don’t mind being cooped up on a boat for 12 hours or so.

How To Get Around

Navigating around town can be difficult when you’re a tourist. Whether you’re looking for public transit or a ride from an Uber driver, your best bet is to find out where you need to go and then look for alternatives. For example, if public transportation is unavailable, there are plenty of Uber drivers in Mumbai who are happy to give their services—for a price, of course. And if you don’t want to use your phone while abroad, consider getting an international SIM card before heading off on vacation. When it comes to paying for everything once you get back home, it helps to keep all your receipts so that tax forms and any reimbursements are easy as pie come tax season!

What To Do

Places In Mumbai

Depending on where you live, Mumbai might not be somewhere you’ve considered visiting before. Many people don’t even realize that it is a city in India and mistakenly assume it is in Pakistan. There are plenty of great reasons to visit, though! Here are 10 of them 1. It's full of history: The city has been inhabited for more than 5,000 years and contains historical monuments from all over its long history. One example is Elephanta Caves which contain rock-cut sculptures from between 450-900 AD. 2. It's home to Bollywood: If you love movies, then there is no better place to go than Mumbai. This is where Bollywood films are made and some of them (like Slumdog Millionaire) have gone on to win Academy Awards 3. The Gateway of India: Located at Apollo Bunder in South Mumbai, this monument was built as a symbol of welcome for King George V and Queen Mary when they visited India in 1911 4.

Where To Eat

Keeping track of your nutrition during a vacation can be a challenge, but that’s no excuse to overeat! If you stay focused on healthy meals throughout your trip, not only will you maintain your normal weight, but you’ll also get in some interesting new tastes. The key is to be savvy about where and what you eat. Do some research before you leave to find high-quality local restaurants. And don’t forget to ask for sauces or dressings on the side when eating out—many are loaded with fat and calories. If you do splurge, it won’t hurt as much if you save up over several days. For example, if you want dessert at dinner one night, skip it at lunch instead. It all adds up!
